mamaelephant.org is a non profit website that provides a cyber meeting place for the non profit music community. It also acts as a parent web site for all Mama Elephant activities. mamaelephant.org is primarily an informational site that lists links to other sites.
The primary goals of the site are:
1. To provide a searchable resource of interesting and relevant music-related non-profit web sites for the non-profit music community as well as the general public.
2. To educate the general public about and to provide an information resource for following music communities in particular:
- San Francisco Bay Area non profit music and art collectives.
- Ecologically sustainable musical instruments movement
- Women in Music
- D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) independent music community
- the musical communities of Mexico
3. To provide a current calendar list of free (no cost) musical events and shows that are open to the general public.
4. To provide a vehicle for the distribution of both used and new instruments to educational and underprivileged communities.

Our independent production company that coordinates fund raising events including concerts, art shows, readings, and lectures. Mama Elephant productions also acts as a management and booking agency for various artists and musicians who are involved with the organization.
